    I’d be interested to hear what people would like to see in the Cold Calling Database;

    • Do you have any particular desires for output? Would an XML output be handy for any of you with telephone systems? Or would you rather just having a big list you can search?
    • Would some form of API for adding numbers (or retrieving numbers) from the database be handy? Such as “www.coldcallingdatabase.com/CheckNumber/01234567890” and “www.coldcallingdatabase.com/AddNumber/20349293993” ?

    Any other things you can think of that you would like me to focus on?

    Glad to see we have a few people coming here - and please do link to me if you feel this resource will benefit people! Happy to provide reciprocal links to those who want them!

    1. M Smith Says:

      Cold calling should be made illegal. These people/companies are putting my life in danger by ringing presisantly and waking me up during the day. My own mobile company rang me the other day to discuss my contract options. I told them I was a night HGV driver and I was in bed asleep, but they are still ringing me. Every call I have received since has been ignored and the chances I will now go on to pay as you go, just as a reward.
      Of course there is a very easy solution to this problem. I can put my phone onto silent mode so that when my 7yr old daughters headteacher rings me up to tell me that she has had an accident at school she wont be able to contact me either.
      If I want a product or service I will go to an appropriate comnpany. Peoples privacy should be respected and the government should be protecting us from this sort of thing.
      This is a slighty off topic example but it is related. Vision Express provided me with a pair of glasses. In the two year gap between tests I moved out of the county. I did not tell them I moved. They sent me a reminder for an eye test in my name to my new address inviting me attend my old branch. How did they know I had moved? How did they know my new address? Did they really think I was going to drive two and a half hours for an eye test?
